SaskEnergy is seeking a dynamic, visionary executive to join its leadership team as Executive Vice President (EVP), Stakeholder Engagement, Chief Legal Officer & Corporate Secretary. This multifaceted role offers a unique platform to shape Saskatchewans energy future through an integrated portfolio spanning legal affairs, corporate governance, and stakeholder engagement.

Reporting directly to the President & CEO and serving as Corporate Secretary to the Board of Directors, the Executive Vice President (EVP), will act as a strategic catalyst across the enterpriseguiding public policy alignment, leading regulatory compliance, championing Indigenous reconciliation, and stewarding public trust. This is more than a legal leadership roleits a call to public service at the highest level, with the ability to influence sustainable development, community impact, and energy transition in one of Canadas most vital sectors.

At SaskEnergy, a Crown corporation that serves over 400,000 customers and reaches 93% of the provinces communities, the EVP will operate at the intersection of energy, environment, and ethics. Whether advancing emissions-reduction targets, advising on complex infrastructure projects, or strengthening community relationships, the successful candidate will help drive a people-centered strategy that aligns reliability, affordability, and sustainability.

Professional Qualifications
  • Legal Acumen : Holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) and is a member in good standing (or eligible) with the Law Society of Saskatchewan. Brings 15+ years of progressive legal and business leadership, including experience as General Counsel, CLO, or a senior legal executive.

  • Governance Leadership : Demonstrated experience serving as Corporate Secretary or Board advisor within a regulated, Crown, or public sector entity. Brings a strong understanding of fiduciary responsibilities, Crown corporation governance frameworks, and public sector accountability.

  • Public Utility & Regulatory Insight : Ideally possesses experience in utility, energy, infrastructure, or natural resources environment. Deep familiarity with corporate/commercial law, regulatory regimes, Indigenous law, and compliance management.

The ideal candidate is a persuasive communicator and trusted liaison across government, Indigenous, and community stakeholders, with strong skills in policy, media, and crisis response. They are a change-driven leader who integrates sustainability and equity into strategy, and a collaborative systems thinker who fosters cross-functional alignment and high-performing teams. Grounded in public service values, they lead with empathy, cultural awareness, and the resilience to navigate complexity with integrity.
