Police Officer Lateral Transfer

The Jeffersontown Civil Service Commission hereby gives notice of an application period for the position of Police Officer – Lateral Transfer.

Applications may be picked up from March 3, 2025 - April 11, 2025, at the Jeffersontown Police Department, 10410 Taylorsville Road, Jeffersontown, Kentucky. Applications will also be available online to download and print. The starting annual base salary for this position is $82,914.47. In addition to the base salary, Jeffersontown officers also receive an annual KLEFPF supplement of $4,429, and an annual education incentive of up to $1,800 depending on college credit. Total compensation upon your hire date is $87,343.47 - $89,143.47. All uniforms and equipment are provided, and officers receive a uniform allowance of $1,368.36 after the first year of employment.

Applicants must have a minimum of five (5) full years of experience as a law enforcement officer and meet, or have the ability to meet, the requirements of the Peace Officer Professional Standards (POPS) Act administered by the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council (KLEC). Out-of-state transfers must apply for, and receive, reciprocity through KLEC prior to employment.
